We will be deploying Panther systems in an Active Directory network so new users will be generated dynamically. Obviously the system is pulling the user settings from some place or file. What I’d like to know is where is this and can it be modified to create a user experience customized to our network, systems, and software. To particular things I’d like to change is: the items in the dock (we have Photoshop etc on these Mac’s) and the start-up items. Thank you in advance for your help!

You just need to modify the appropriate .plist file. com.Apple.dock.plist for the Dock settings. I don't where the startup items are stored. And this is in Panther.
