Hello
I have 10.3, but not yet installed. use 10.2.8 If I do a clean install on an single use machine, ie same name and admin account, how can I move my files over to the 10.3?

do I need to move eveything to a 'public' folder first, then do a clean install then move back?

have lots of important Netscape email. do I reinstall netscape 7?

For $5.00, the Ebook (52 pages) "Take Control Of Upgrading to Panther" http://tidbits.com/takecontrol/ explains all that in step by step detail. You will likely find that few things need to be moved and the process is far easier than you may imagine.

Why not save yourself a lot of time and grief and try a Update Install or Achieve Install first? If it doesn't work to your satisfaction you can always do the clean wipe and intall. But, if you believe your current system is flakey or not working right by all means do the clean install.

If you move the files manually instead of doing an upgraded or archive&install, you should check the User's ID first, because even if the user name is the same, the ID might not be. If the ID is different, you probably won't have the permissions to access your data (if there's only one user it should always be 501, but I'd check it nevertheless).
