Hello,

I just got Comcast cable internet the other day (wish I had done it months ago). My wifes' nephew insists I should turn the modem off when I am not online (he uses a PC), is this true? I was under the impression that OS X had a firewall built into it, am I wrong (again?).

Thanks,
Tom King

yes there is an integrated firewall; here are the steps to turn it on:

1) Open System Preferences
2) Choose Sharing
3) Click the Firewall Tab
4) Click Start

an there you go!
