I seem to be among quite a few people that are having printer issues with Panther. I have an HP PhotoSmart 1215. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver. I've tried running that package from allosx.com... I"ve deleted all the prefs I can find related to printing.... nothing helps.

No matter what application I use, it crashes when I print. Even if I do a print preview, poof, crash.

Anyone else experience this?

Mine is fine printing everywhere - are the HP drivers current? I have a S450 Canon, and the old drivers are fine, but I didn't install it under Jaguar, so a conflict could be the reason

Panther doesn't come with built in drivers for my printer, so no conflict. I had the latest drivers under Jaguar (where it worked fine) and then did the upgrade. It is still the latest driver.

Are you using any font management programs? I found tht SuitcaseX1 and fontbook were conflicting causing printer crashes.

Good question, but no. I don't have any kind of third party apps that could interfere. No USB overdrive, no font managers. I use my computer to surf the web, do email, rip and burn music, and sometimes I have to print things.

I might try, for the heck of it, unplugging all USB devices and seeing if something isn't causing a problem.

Are you going to page setup to ensure the document is properly connected to the printer, may only have to be done once, if that doesn't help, maybe a complete system restart (including printers) or a reinstall will solve the problem. Best of Luck
