I just converted the "Mac OS X Install Disc" into .dmg file from its folder (Disk Utility > Images > New > Image from Folder).

Then I opened Disk Utility to burn the .dmg files. Then it refused to let me burn the cd. it says " The disc insert does not have enough free space."

Why is this happening?? the blank CDR is TDK CDR with 80min 700 mb.

What went wrong??

Help me out, thanks.

What is it exactly you are trying to do here? Are you trying to take a CD "Mac OS X Install Disc" and burn it? Why make the image in the first place? What do you have in the folder that you imaged earlier?

Quite simply the way finder burns the image exceeds the capacity of a blank disc. Giving you the benefit of the doubt, and assuming you actually BOUGHT Panther, you can make a backup copy using a DISC COPY w/ Toast or Nero on a PC.

Use Disc Copy in Toast and duplicate the install disc.
