I installed Panther over a clean 10.2.6. The same 10.2.6 that I had previously used to CarbonCopy over to a friend's computer. This friend is named Vince. After the install of Panther on my machine, it asked me for my name and whatnot.. passwords, etc... I gave them.
When I went to login for the first time(Panther), it showed that the admin's name was Vince!.. I even had to type in the password I had set for that guy's name previously when creating his Jaguar acct.
I've fixed the name/password for the admin(me), but the short name is still 'vince', and it's greyed out in system prefs. and I dunno how to change it. root?
anyone? : \
this is NOT Vincent's friggin' computer! it's mine!! : D

Simplest would be to just create a new user, and then kill Vincent Or you could use "NetInfo Manager" to change the name, and then change the name of the his home folder, to the new name.

Dude, if you think 30 seconds amounts to work, then you surely have no idea what work really is.

Well, by being smart he WAS being lazy. Smart would have been to look the info up himself and then fix the issue himself resulting in not having to post here for help. Instead he was lazy and got some sucker to do the work for him.

You're probably right... Tell you what-- why don't you demonstrate what hard work is, and I'll observe intently.
I'll be over here in the nice, comfy chair. Try not to sweat too much.
