Have you restarted the SystemUIServer via Activity Monitor?

Does this affect all users?

Activity Monitor>Show All Processes (pull down menu)>Select "SystemUIServer" and then hit the Quit Process....

However, it sounds like you may not have that process running, in which case, explains your issue of not seeing the menulets appear.

Since you're new I have to ask, have you gone into the System prefs and changed or checked to see if the settings are checked to display in the menu bar? Sometimes they turn off, so open System Prefs and check those you are missing.

Hmm, sounds like your permissions our a little quarky...

Launch Disk Utility and "Repair Permissions" on your HD and see if that helps to make those preferences stay...

Again, does this affect all users on the machine? Log in as another user (create one if necessary) and see if you see the same issue....

I have the same problem on an ibook with the battery indication in the menu bar. The iBook went asleep after it ran out of battery power but when i plugged in the power adapter the battery wouldn't charge, i was afraid my battery went dead, well atleast that's what i thought since nothing changed in the menu bar even after 1 hour. But the iBook worked after i unplugged it.

Today when i woke up(after i woke up ) the iBook the battery indicator had changed to 99% and slowly drops, 1% every hour, so that can't be right either. Oh and i changed it's view to "%" since it won't calculate the time anymore, it's just stuck at "calculating... remaining".

Very strange, i have panther installed since oct 24th without a problem since yesterday.

I've been having this problem on my Dualie and PB12 as well. I've done everything from trashing the preferences to zapping the PRAM and still no resolve. Has anyone else have this problem?

I had a similar problem after upgrading to Panther, but trashing SystemUIServer prefs fixed it.

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.

I trashed the SystemUIServer prefs in my library folder and upon restart and logout it worked. But when I did a shut down and then restarted the computer, the menu bar is still messed up. Did you have this problem?
