Here's a pretty cool video I recorded today showing Panther's "Fast User Switching" capabilities. The framerate of the movie is 30fps, compressed with MPEG4 (medium quality), and scaled down 50%.

(no soundtrack on this one, sorry -- Panther halts iTunes from playing when you switch to another user, so it would have sounded odd anyway)

Cool Video. How did you record that? I'm a mac newbie (on OSX), and would like to do this for a friend.

thanks!

It's part of his new Snapz Pro X and he's been showing it off like this for a couple weeks.

Hey… what was that in, 640x480? And why?

Thanks -- I guess it worked, because I downloaded it and made my first desktop movie. Very slick! Now, if only I could justify $49 for something I don't need

It was recorded in 800x600, and then scaled down 50%. I could record it at a larger size, but the resulting video would be larger too (which sucks to download).

heh -- well, I just think the various animations in Panther are quite cool, and not everyone has seen 'em, sooo....

BTW, the video was recorded with Snapz Pro X 2.0 (currently in beta). The video capture is significantly better than what 1.0.x offers.
