Am I the only one, or is anyone else having problems with the new color calibration in panther?

I detailed this in another thread, but what happens is this (this is on a TiBook 667 VGA):

When the display calibrator app is running (with expert options either checked or unchecked), I get no visual feedback from adjusting the sliders... the apple logo, nor background changes. I can go through every step and get no visual response at all, but I will get a "calibrated" profile that is nowhere near calibrated.

I've tried deleting all preferences and cache files, reinstalled twice, zapped pram, etc etc. no luck. No hardware problems according to the hardware diagnostic CD. Calibration works perfectly in Jaguar and OS 9.2... panther calibration even works when connected to an external monitor, just not on the built in display. It seems like it could be a hardware problem, but everything works fine except in Panther, so that leads me to the conclusion that it must be software. Any ideas?

edit: I have also come to believe that this is related to some other display problems I have been dealing with... when selecting an existing calibrated display profile in the Display prefpane, the profile settings won't take effect unless I log out and back in (or switch users), and sometimes it takes a couple of tries before it takes. Also, when swithcing resolutions or color depth (either manually or when starting a game that runs full screen), the screen goes blue and it stays that way. I can hear that everything is still active, it just isn't visible. Toggling inverted display mode (ctrl+opt+cmd+8) sets everything back to normal. This is all so fük!ng annoying!

Try using an application called SuperCal instead. Check versiontracker.com for it.

Thanks. But SuperCal yields the same results.
