Hi,

I can't send a fax using Panther's built in feature.

When I try to use it, I go through the proper routine but when it comes to sending the fax, nothing happens, the internal modem doesn't seem to be activated at all.

In system prefs>network I'm told that the modem is connected but not set up. I can't set it up because I'm on a cable connection. I haven't any details to give the prefs panel.

In any case, do I need a dialup isp to send a fax? I would have though it's a P2P connection.

Can anyone get me past this?

Can you go in and put in some fake settings for the modem connection ?? Then switch back to ethernet ?

to fax, you need to be connected to a phone line - it works like a fax machine, dialing out on a phone line etc., but it does *not* fax over the internet.

Ok, forget I said anything, I'm a dummy.

It works perfectly well. It just takes a while and it does it's job silently. I was expecting to be able to hear the modem dial.

Can't get the cover sheet to fax though...
