Ever since upgrading a blue iMac DV to Panther, I have been having odd problems with the modem (whether used for faxing or Internet Connect). Occasionally it will fail to connect to the other side, and will hang at "Disconnecting..." forever. The only solution is to reboot. I have tried killing processes, etc, but to no avail. I just recently did a repair permissions and I don't know if that has it fixed, but has anyone else had this problem?
I haven't had it for a while though. I think if the modem disconnects for some reason (ISP hangs up), just leave it a minute before trying to dial again. I have noticed the problem comes if I try to Connect too quickly after a hangup.
