Already on my list:
1. metadata based fs
2. more control over interface (system fonts control, finder icons spacing, more dock options).
3 . more exposé options (use minimized windows and hidden windows)
4. more human friendly sharing including sharing of individual folders, sharing of libraries across users on a single machine, and so on.
5. yet more speed especially in iapps like iphoto and ical which are obnoxiously slow even on my G5.
6. aliases for shared network computers.
7. smarter handling of shared computers (right now for example if one goes out of range the connected computer locks up for way too long)
8. Consistent interfaces between iapps for editing metadata (for example one should be able to edit multiple data items in iphoto just as you can in itunes)
9. Dock improvements
10. More refinements to the default theme (scrollbars need an overhaul in my opinion).

I just want it to make me coffee in the morning and clean my house while I'm away.

I'd like to be able to define a list if "Trusted Users" who could switch to my account without having to know my password (they'd just have to enter their own username/password). High risk, low security, I know, but in a family/home situation, it would be very useful for fast user switching.
Lets face it, "sudo" work in a similar way, and allows "root" access. So it's certainly no worse than that.

Not true.
10.3.5 will actually run on Intel hardware plus most new lawn and garden equipment.
