OS X 10.3 strangely changed the use of the previously available directories:
/Network/Applications
/Network/Library
/Network/Users
Initially during boot, these directories exist. If a network initializes successfully, the directories get deleted, and only
/Network/Servers
(and potentially other visible servers) are left.
Indeed, if one happens to have a finder window accessing one of the old /Network/... directories, the Finder may hang during network initialization, and may require re-launch
Does anybody know how to avoid erasing these directories during boot? We used them to mimic on PowerBooks our server-based mounts of these directories. Somehow Apple fails significantly to reveal the functionality of the new network structure to advanced users.
