10.3.1 Won't let me mount disk images - help!!

	Last night I installed 10.3 and shortly after updated to 10.3.1. I did a clean install, formatted my HD and installed the OS using the retail CD's. Naturally I am trying to get my software back on and set up but 10.3.1 will not mount an image. Camino, Transmit, MSN Messenger ... they all fail to mount. The Finder returns the following message - "error -536870208". Funnily it is fine with .dmg.gz and .zip, but crap with .dmg! What do I have to do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
