I'm attempting to do a compete fresh install from Jaguar to Panther, but the one that's concerning me the most is how to safely transfer everything i have in Mail.app (including accounts, inboxes, rules, "on my mac" inboxes) into Panther without having to redo much of the work i put into customizing Jaguar. is there really a way to do this? i've tried just moving the mboxes but some only import empty inboxes(!) and i lose all that i had. any suggestions and tips would be greatly appreciated.

1. Open your old ~/Library folder and copy the ENTIRE "Mail" folder into your Panther ~/Library folder.
2. Open your old ~/Library/Preferences folder and copy the "com.apple.mail.plist" into your Panther's ~/Library/Preferences folder.
That's it.
When you next launch Panther Mail, all your old customizations will be converted to the new Mail, including Toolbar layout, accounts, etc.
It was designed this way for updating users and works very well.

This is exactly what I did.. And it works perfectly.
Before this, I tried doing it Apples way, recommended in their own Helper app. But it simply didnt work properly!
Transfering the entire mail folder and prefs is faultless though.

The worst thing about having a failing memory is..... no, it's gone.
