You know how after the installation you are asked to regsiter panther? I clicked on register later. Know I want to register it but I don't know how to do that?
Any hints will be welcome?
The reason I asks is ever since I have installed panther my modem has been making funny noises at startup even though I am not connecting to the internet so my only guess is that it has something to do with the regestration.
There's a alias in your home folder to register. However, that has nothing to do with your modem making funny sounds. There is no requirement to register and the OS will make no attempts to make you register.

It is probably software update checking for new software. You can turn it off in System Preferences.
