Hi all,

For a few days now I have been the proud owner of a G4 iBook and enjoy it immensly. i have used unix-type operating systems mostly and some Windows at work and Panther is like a breath of fresh air.

I have (as any newbie) a ton of questions but will keep it simple this time.

One thing I have been doing very often with any computer I have owned so far was burning cds, both audio and data.

What is the best way to do multisession cds? I have no intention of buying any third party software for this as I know Panther can address this directly.

Is there a way to tell the finder NOT to copy all data to a temp image somewhere before burning but pull it directly frm where it is? (Read how do I avoid the 'Copying 1234 items to Untitled CD' dialog?)

Do any of you have any ideas and good suggestions on using CDRWs to automatically backup data (update files on cdrw or even erase cd and burn new contents? I am thinking perl or bash scripts using mainly the hdiutils command... Anyone doing this and willing to share?

So far this time.

Many thanks for your replies,
_nmk
