Will Panther install and run on my G3 beige desktop Mac--- even though it has an aftermarket PCI (PowerLogix) USB/FireWire card and not native ports for same ?

Are there any workarounds? Anyone have it running, and notice any especially good effects from it?

I'm actually interested to see if there is a work around. I have an old beige G3 tower that I have been using as a Web/PHP/MySQL server. It only has a few hundred hits a day, but it chugs along. I have stripped everything out (unneeded applications, etc. etc.)

I would like to have Panther on it simply for the security updates and updated foundation. Then again, I shouldn't touch it as it works well for what it does.

If it ain't broken...
