Shouldn't there be a way to enable a password only when waking from sleep? Or even better, manually?

It's a pain to type my password every time the screen saver kicks on, but I like the security of typing it in once I wake my PowerBook from sleep (I carry it around with me all day, sleeping). In Windows I could ctrl-alt-delete and then just hit enter for "Lock Workstation" and it was done, or just set it to lock every time it went to sleep.

Is there a way to do this in Panther?

Thanks!

No. However, you shouldn't be relying on a screensaver for LCD panels. If you want to increase the life of the display, use the energy saver so the backlight shuts off. Doing this will also solve your problem.

Lol no I only use the screen saver because it looks cool - "Flurry" - good stuff, Apple. 10 mins later the backlight shuts off. I just wish it could only lock when it SLEEPS, not when it's in the screen saver.

And as for the life of my lcd... it's short anyway - white spots everywhere! Just waiting to hear that someone got a flawless lcd back from Applecare before I send it in *again*.
