Is it possible to prevent the Screen saver from turning on when certain apps are active, ie. it's a bother when I'm watching a movie with VLC or Televio TV, or DVD player and the screen saver comes on?

Thanks

In the screensaver preference pane (10.2) or the Exposé preference pane (10.3), specify a corner of your screen where you can put the cursor and have the screen saver NOT activate. Then when you're watching the movie, just leave the cursor in that corner.
