ichat wont open?

im running panther and have been using ichat ever since, i would say about two weeks. then i got home one afternoon and tried to turn it on and it bounced once and never came on, the little arrow on the dock was underneath it and everything. i dont think i did anything out of the ordinary to make it stop working, so i trashed and d/l another version and it wouldnt let me install because it said not supported on this OS!!?!?
uhmmm im i missing something? i havent heard anyone with problem, yet.
and now ichat cost $30!!!?!?!
LOL, now im really lost.

LOL, now im really lost.
You need to reinstall it from your Panther CDs. And it costs $30 to download for Jaguar users. Panther users have it on their install CDs so no worries for them.

I had a problem with iChat as well...how do I Install just iChat from my Panther CD?

I think you need to extract it using Pacifist 1.6...

i dont see an ichat pkg using pacifist.
can anyone provide assistance? ive been searching the web and messageboards for an hour now...

As I remember the Ilife apps were on disk 2 of the Panther CDs
