10.2.6, G4 1Ghz Tibook. This is the only symptom on this heavily used computer. Always opens, then crashes between a few minutes or longer without any pattern other than it's when I'm opening a web page, but no particular page. Tried trashing preferences, and repairing permissions. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks....Peter

Try trashing com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist from Home/Library/Preferences.
Not compatible with Windows

It's done that to me a couple times... I just go to the Safari menu and click on 'reset safari'... good to go!

All as artificial as the Matrix itself, although only a human mind could invent something as insipid as Love.

Yes, I've also had some problems with Safari crashing intermittently. It also seems to have caused a few kernel panics as well. I'm not sure if this is memory-related or software-related but I will try the fixes listed above and see what happens.

The only other app that crashes is Photoshop CS.

This happened to me for a while on 10.2.x, about a month before the Panther release. I tried everything short of "Reset Safari" because it "erases your browsing history, empties the cache, clears the Downloads window, and removes cookies. It also removes any saved names and passwords or other AutoFill text and clears Google search entries." And I have a lot of saved passwords. Since I couldn't figure out how to back those up I was basically prevented from doing that. But it did go away on its own. I moved all the plugins out of their proper folder, and it seemed to be okay, and got me by until Panther.

Folks- I'm well into day two since taking the dagaz's advice "Try trashing com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist from Home/Library/Preferences." and no problems. Since this has no cost, unlike resetting Safari, I recommend it first. Best...Peter
