Much less hassle, definately, but occassionally there are problems that seep through an Archive/Install and you're forced to do a Format/Install.

Personally, I'd rather do the Format/Install because I'd rather do the install process once. If I do an A/I, and a problem crops up, I may have to do another install if the problem is that elusive. F/I is 99% right the first time.

Thanks for the fast response. What about saving your music and photos before? Do you just export them on to a CD or something and then import them after the install?

Oh, absolutely. I either use an external harddrive, DVD/CD-R, backup tape, or file servers to move my data off. But, I'm sure I'm in the minority. For those without these methods of backing up, an Archive/Install is definately the easiest way. Having only one copy of my data would make me nervous. Extremely nervous.
