I have been struggling with a problem where I will set a desktop background with my PowerBook G4/1.25 GHz while it is not plugged in to an external display. I put the computer to sleep, plug the external display in (clam shell mode) and when the screen comes back on it's just a blue background even though when I go to change the desktop background it displays as if my chosen background is actually...well, showing. Any ideas?

It also works the other way - i.e. if I set a desktop background while it's plugged in to the external display, it forgets it when I unplug the display, though it still shows up in the desktop background system panel.

Cheers,
Brad
