I have been having problems for the last few weeks being unable to click on dialog boxes that appear in the middle of the screen. If I drag the dialog box or window to the side it works fine. At first I thought it was a problem with the Microsoft Intellimouse Drivers or the fact that I'm using Sidetrack and that it may have had compatibility issues. But no, I have removed both of these and the problem still exists. I'm not sure if this is related but on doing a fsck -f in single user startup I get 1 error that does not get fixed. The error is "Cant find IOInputManager".

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't IOInput deal EXACTLY with input devices...SUCH AS a mouse???

Also are you by any chance using the exposé "hack" that sends you desktop into a small box on the screen?
If so... turn it back to the default.

I am having the same problem. but only sporadically. The strange thing is that when this behavior occurs, not being able to click into a dialogue box, I also lose my modifier keys. For example, Control + I on icon in Finder will not bring up contextual menu as it normally does. None of the modifier keys will work. I have no idea how to recreate the problem. I should mention that I am using Logitech cordless keyboard, but have done so for months without problem. (Yes, batteries are new; connection to computer is verified.) This behavior started after installing Apples 10.3.1 and Bluetooth update (but as yet have no devices enabled in the Pref Pane.

I had the same problem.

I figured out it was because I had enabled the hack that makes it so when you activate Expose on all windows, they shrink down into a tiny box rather than fly off the screen. It seems that whever this hack is enabled, the spot where this box appears makes what's under it unclickable even when Expose is not activated.

The expose hack did not apply to me because I had not implemented it. Any other clues?
