Can't open disk images in Panther

I can't open ANY disk images. I can read CD's but not stand alone images. I keep getting error message 536870208. Even any and all images I opened in Jaguar. Any ideas?
I'm trying like crazy to open the new HP print drivers to resolve the printer problems I'm also having with Panther.
PC's are Feces!!!!

Also, I DID repair the disk permissions and I still cannot open any disk images.

I had the same problem. Absolutely no disk images woiuld mount. After much frustration, i did an archive and (re)install of panther, and no problems since.
