I'd appreciate it if anyone knows off the top of their head to write an AppleScript script which will "bounce" back an email instead of moving it to the junk mail folder. Thanks!

I know you're not going to want to hear this, but 'bouncing' rarely works....at least from what I've heard. Also, I still get shitloads of spam after spending months bouncing spam back thinking I was winning a war with the spammers!
Not to mention, what if it bounces to a legitimate email...

Thanks for the feedback. I know most have bogus addresses but if one in 5 is genuine and I can bounce it, great...

I think one in 5 is extreamly optimistic. I get around 500 junk mail messages a day currently and I would say less than 10 are valid, possibly even 0 total.

I find when I bounce emails they get bounced back to me as invalid addresses, re-flooding my email with just as many spam messages I just attempted to get rid of...

I just signed up for a service called MessageFire (http://www.messagefire.com/), so far it seems to work great. I'm having a hard time gettng mail to recognize their junk tags but using some fancy applescripting I *think* I can now rely on all my junk being marked as junk...

One thing to note though, if someone did use a valid email address for spam and you did bounce it back, they could just as easily re-bounce it back to you so you would both feel they used an invalid address and at the same time if you wern't to rebounce it, he would know that it was a fake bounce... Basically you would end up in a bouncing war with every spam message you got, which would both flood your in box and anger your isp (among others) at the same time...
