When I browse the forums here or similar sites,
I'll toggle through the various pages.
The page will initially load, and just as I'm about to browse a subject, the page finishes loading and jumps several lines. I lose my place and have to bring the cursor up to the proper subject line I was about to browse. Is this typical behavior? Why can't the page just keep loading in place? This behavior has continued through Jaguar and on to Panther.

Sounds like what happens to me a few times when I am too quick and start inserting username/passwords before the page is fully loaded...it's usually about the time that I am almost finished typing my password that the page loads and totally jumps the page up causing the last few letters of my password to go into the username field instead...not cool...but then again, I *could* be more patient I suppose...

Are you guys running PithHelmet? I notice this behavior using that plug-in... what happens is that the original ad space is drawn in by Safari, then PithHelmet hides it once the page is done loading so that there isn't white gaps all over the place (which causes the page to jump upward several lines).
The two problems may be related so I thought I'd mention it... if not, then I'm clueless (if that wasn't already evident).
First there was man, then there was Macintosh
