I recently bought an iBook G4 (fabulous machine by the way) and today I wanted to restore my gigabytes of data that I saved prior to switching.

For the backups I used CDRWIN on Windows XP to backup the data onto DVD-R media. UDF was used as filesystem.

I then inserted the DVD-R into the iBook's SlotIn Drive and it was mounted perfectly fine. The problem came after I started copying the data from the DVD-R to the harddisk: with about 2 GB left to copy the process suddenly stopped. Either without a message or with "error -43".

This behaviour is reproducable with all DVD-Rs I've burnt.

For I'm out of ideas what could cause this, any help would be greatly appreciated.
