Hi all,

Weird system problems... I have a DP 1GHz G4, that crashed hard when transferring songs onto my iPod. Upon restart, I have lost my desktop background as well as my ability to change it (in favor of a straight blue background). I have also lost my dock into oblivion. I have tried 'hiding' and 'unhiding' my dock, but I could not persuade it to come back. The weird part is that everything else on the computer is functioning perfectly.

Anyone have thoughts or experience with this sort of isue? I am running Panther, and have used Panther cache cleaner and MacJanitor successfully (though it hasn't brought back the dock or changed the desktop pattern). I have updated my computer to the latest system update, and nothing has changed.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
- M
