i recently purchased a lacie 80gb usb2.0 external hard drive to go with my lovely new ibook g4. at first it was all fine, insert the cable and it appears on the (panther) desktop in a few seconds, but now it works most of the time, and occasionally fails to appear. Since yesterday this has continued, and the drive has not appeared despite trying restarts and unplugging and replugging. The drive recongises that it is connected because it immaediately powers itself up when i insert the cable into the computer, but then it just sits there with the fan and light going but shows no activity and does not appear on the desktop.
Any help in solving this one would be greatly appreciated.
