Alright, well no one seems to have any ideas for me in the Powerbook thread, so I'll ask here also.
I want to send files from a Dell Inspiron laptop to my Tibook using the infrared port. Trust me, it's the only option for transferrring off the Dell. However, I can't get the IR port on the Tibook to recognize see any IR devices; it doesn't see the Dell, nor does it see my Palm.
Any ideas to get the IR port working?
I'm running 10.3.1.

You have turned on "Show IrDA status in menu bar", found in network prefs - IrDa Modem?

Yep, Ive done that and it has placed what looks like a target (circles withing circles) in my menu bar. It gives me a IrDA status of 'Idle"...

Ok, I just tried it on my TiBook 550. It sees my T68i but the weird thing is all the menu extras keep disappearing and reappearing when there is nothing detected by the IrDA port.

It also sees my Sony Clié, though I have not tried to hot-sync it this way.

Yeah, the menu extras were disappearing and reappearing on mine too at first. They seem to be staying now, though I can't explain why.
