hi guys,

ibook 933mhz, 14" g4 with panther. every time i try to install a dmg file panther reports a pop up window saying:

error 536870208

does anyone know what is wrong here?

Fix for DMG problem with Panther

this question was answered.

The fix: re-apply the 10.3.1 patch for
Panther.

This fixed *two* problems for me:

1)The DMG problem
2)A USB port problem (port worked with keyboard & mouse, didn't recognize my USB Flash drive).

Both problems went away.

I was on the phone with Apple when I found the workaround; it'll show up at the Apple support site soon,
since they were confused about it too.
