I'd like to change all my *.tab files from the horrid nasty blank default icon to a nice shiny suitable guitar one! I think I must be missing something really obvious here - I've tried pasting the icon onto the tab files in a multiple selection...

If anyone could help I'd be grateful! (Oh doing it one-by-one is out the question as there are about 200+ files)

You need to add an icns file for this file type in the app that opens the .tab files. Then you need to edit the Info.plist of that app so that the doc type dictionary for the tab files adds a CFBundleTypeIconFile key that points to that icns file.

Thanks for the info developer, is there any nice program that can do this for me as I'm not really clued up on the unix side of things??
