I have a 733 g4 (silver streak i believe)running 10.2.8 and I'm about to pull my hair out. Safari, explorer and mail all quit unexpectedly and I have been unable to find a pattern to this. This seems to happen randomly, but once one program quits it seems to happen quicker each time I restart the program, unitl they quit as soon as I restart them. This problem has been happening ever since I started using osX.
I don't know if this is a related problem, but when I used os9, if i had explorer and entourage opened at the same time, I usually locked up frequently.
Please say that someone has an answer. I've tried reinstalling the system software and getting rid of prefs, what else can i do. Please help.
Thanks in advance

The first thing to do when things start unexpectedly quitting is to quit all applications, launch Disk Utility and repair permissions.

I've actually repaired permissions a ton of times now and I still keep running into the same problems. I have a few other solutions I found in some posts I'm gonna try tonight. I'm hoping one of those will work.
Thanks for your help!

Sounds like the common thread is your internet or network. I'd try trashing some network prefs, checking any firewall settings and make sure your means of connecting are set up properly.

I have tried trashing prefs, repairing permissions and everything else I can think of. I agree that the common thread seems to be the internet related apps. I'm gonna research the firewall and my internet setup, but if anyone has any other reccomendations please help.
OHHHHHH...
somehting else that has started to happen lately...Now my computer will occasionally and randomly log me out back to the starting log-in screen. Any idea what that is? Are all of these symptoms of a larger problem?

hey man, this was happening to me a while ago, the exact same thing. I called up apple and the rep had me empty my cache, I can't remember where I went to do it or how I did (I'm new to apples) but right after I did this and restarted my computer it fixed the problem perfectly!
