running 10.3.1, only user.
having some problems with safari, so i downloaded from apple, deleted my current safari (and all related files), went to install it.

i get an error, my harddrive icon with a red exclamation point, and this message:

you cannot install this software on this volume. this system cannot use this software.


i turned off custom apps, rebooted in safe mode, and still...same message.

any ideas???

the download you have is for version 1.0, not 1.1 thats included with Panther. Try using Pacifist to extract the file off the Install CD's.

okay...only i cant find safari. any idea where it would be? (i see all the i apps, etc)

hard 2 see why apple doesnt have it online!
