I recently bought my G4 powerbook, and the 10.3-4CD set was in the box, but not pre-installed.

The first thing I did was UPGRADE using the CD's and following the default settings. Since then, all's been well.

But, I'm now wondering (while the unit is still pretty fresh) if it would be better to do a CLEAN install? I know from winXP that would be the case.

If it's worth doing a clean install.. how exactly should I do this. When I booted the upgrade CD's, I didn't actually see a 'clean' option.

Thanks for any advice.

Since you upgraded a "virgin" system and have not experienced any problems, I think doing a clean installation is unnecessary.
If you decide that you do want to do one anyway, there is an Options menu at the installer screen where you select the drive you want to install on. One of the options is "Erase and Install." That's the one that will give you a clean install.

Doing an "Archive and Install" will give you a system-level clean install, but not a user-level one. It's much, much more convenient, though, so I highly recommend it if you're going to reinstall.

But it doesn't sound like you need it.
