I had a problem were my optical mouse would no move past the right-most half of my screen. If I curse at it for a while it will hyper-react in anger and pretty much move to random locations on the screen. I had to completely shutdown to fix this. Do any of you have any insight into what may have been the cause? This is the second time in a month that this has happened. I don't think it's a hardware problem but I could be wrong.

I have Panter and an iMac17" 800MHZ.

Thanks,

Have you tried using the mouse on different, less reflective surfaces?

Do you have access to any other machines with USB mice that you could maybe switch mice with for a week or so to test?

It doesn't really sound like Software... do you use any unusual applications?
