Hi
Because of a bad CD-ROM drive, my attempted installation of Panther failed, while corrupting OSX 10.2 as well. Applecare took my Powerbook, reinstalled the CD-ROM drive and erased my hard drive, putting OSX10.2 back on it.
Luckily I had backed up my Users folder and the System's "Library" to another computer.
Following instructions from Apple's website I reinstalled my two former User files. It required accessing the root, and for the most part, the reinstallation worked well: my files, my Favorites websites, keychain, preferences, all seem intact.
The only things missing are my Locations and the relevant internet connection settings. Does anyone know where these are stored? I do have a copy of the main "Library" folder (not just the one for my User), but I don't know where to look, or if it is more hassle and risk than it's worth.
