Is it possible to transfer files via firewire between a Mac running OS 10.1 and a laptop running Win XP professional?
If so, how do you configure both computers? I do have a firewire cable here, and a firewire network would be very convenient for transferring larger files.

Thanks,

Mac Arthur

Both Windows XP and MacOSX(10.3) support firewire networking.

You should be able to set the two machines firewire ports up as if they are network cards. In XP it will show up in the network prefs as a IEEE 1394 network adaptor. On OSX you need to fire up sysprefs
go into network
select to show network ports
hit new and add the Built-In Firewire

then go about configuring IP's as per normal.
