weird lines and dots when watching DVDs under 10.3!

	anyone else experiencing this? i get all these strange vertical lines and dots when i play DVD movies using the built in dvd player in 10.3, sigh, i havent noticed this before with jaguar. and I know it cant be the dvd disc, cause it happens to all my dvd movies that i attempt to play, someone please help or tell me whats going on please... I have a powerbook 17" 1ghz model with superdrive... would updating the firmware on my powerbook have anything to do with this?
