I dumped the Microsoft Mouse Pref Pane and restarted but I still cant set Expose to my extra buttons. Anyone know how I can get this to work?

Thanks.

you might have to get usb overdrive (think versiontracker). once you get that, you can bind the keys (the f keys by default) you use for expose to the buttons on the mouse. i think usb overdrive is nag-ware, so you dont have to worry about paying if you can deal with it. should work for you. good luck.

Works fine on my machine. Running 10.3.1 with an Intelli Optical. Make sure you get the newest control panel @ versiontracker.com/macosx.

No I had it working with the Microsoft Pref Pane. I couldnt get the scroll wheel to move faster so I trashed the Microsoft Pref Pane and installed the USB OVERDRIVE. It does work at all. For some reason there is a driver thats controlling the mouse. Even USB OVERDRIVE cant controll it. Its so weird and driving me nuts!

drainyoo: rather than just deleting the prefpane, run the actual IntelliPoint uninstaller. I believe it is located in /Applications/Utilities/

I use Expose w/ the thumb buttons on my IntelliMouse Explorer (3.0) mouse just fine w/o the MS drivers.

In the Expose prefpane I have "all windows" set to Mouse Button 3 (which is the scroll wheel button), "app windows" to button 4 (the larger thumb button), and "desktop" to button 5 (the small thumb button)... anyway, blah

I have IntelliMouse Explorer (3.0) as well but I cant get it work without the driver. I deleted everything that had to do with the driver, I rebooted and nothing. It wont map the functions. I did get it to work with the driver thought. I jsut set the expose to F10,11 and 12. Then I set the buttons in the Microsoft driver to those key and it works.

How did you get it to work without the driver?
