Hi,

I just got at PB 15" with 512MB using X.3 and have a rather noticable gui performance problem.

While scrolling large documents (i.e. macnn forums or a word document) every few seconds there is a delay and then scrolling resumes. I have also noticed this when moving windows around.

I have turned processor performance to highest but no changes.

Any clues?

You can use "Activity Monitor" to check CPU, network, memory, disk, etc.

You can also monitor the activity per process. Maybe this will help you track down what is happening to cause the behavior.

I have a 15" Aluminum 1.25 and it doesn't have this problem. The whole thing's pretty snappy most of the time.

Did you just switch ? Because I just bought an iBook G4 + 640mb of Ram and it also feels sluggish, but I think its because I came from windows which has a noticably faster GUI. (yet uglier). But after playing with my iBook a few days its starting to feel more and more natural.
