I have this service enabled on my Powerbook (Panther) and by default it seems to allow full access to everything in my /home/user directory!? How do I restrict it to read only access? It's very disconcerning knowing anyone on my local lan could wipe out my files

No one knows how to fix this? I need to be able to share my files, but this permission thing is really unsettling.

I suspect they have access to everything because you either.

1. Gave them your userID/Password

or

2. Disabled some of the security features in SAMBA.

if it's #1 Make a 'dummy' account. That way they only have access to /Users/'dummy'
