ok, software update is telling me that i need to install iphoto2 and imovie3.03 (or something like that)
however they are a combined download of about 110mb, and i have already previously installed them via software update!
in the "installed updates" area of software update it indicates that they have been installed, and i have confirmed this by checking in the "about" box of each program.
how can i make software update realise that its already installed these updates (without installing them again, or without "ignoring" the updates, as i would like to be aware of future updates when they come out.)

Did you maybe move them out of their usual location? Software Update gets confused when something is moved.

ah-ha!
i think you may be onto something...
as i dont use these apps often i have moved them to an "other applications" folder.
if i move them back to their original spots, will software update fix itself? (ill go and try it anyways)
thanks for your prompt reply!

But if you move them beck to the "other applications" folder, they will show up again, it's best to check the boxes in 'Software update' and select the 'ignore' menu option for stuff like this (new updates will still appear).
