I know I read about this somewhere, but I just cant seem to get it done.

I wanted to take my Pearl Jam DVD (Live at the Garden) and convert it into AAC files. This will also come in handy later this month when Im going to convert the Neil Young and Zeppelin DVD-A discs i get for Christmas into AAC.

So far, Ive ripped all the tracks independantly in 0sex. They all play in VLC just fine, but wont open in iTunes (so i cant convert selection to AAC).

Any ideas guys?

Thanks

I usually convert the DVD into a QuickTime video and then remove the video track in QuickTime.

From there, you can save it as anything.

They will be AC3 files coming straight off the DVD. If you ripped to elementary streams, use mAC3dec to convert from AC3 to AAC (convert to MOV, then set things up in the "QT Options" section). If you ripped to progressive streams, use a52decX to convert to WAV. Then use Quicktime Pro or iTunes to convert from WAV to AAC.

I've done that with a Metallica DVD by using OSEx to rip the audio - then put the audio track (one long track) into Sound Studio and split the track by markers, then imported the AIFF files into iTunes, converting (in my case to mp3) in iTunes...

Took a while but came out great!

I guess there's an easier route somewhere tho (that doesn't take quite so long!)
