If I ssh from one OS X box to another, it automatically assumes that I want to login to the remote system as the same user I'm logged into on the local machine. Hence, it does not prompt me for a username, only a password.

How do I ssh from one OS X box to another while having the remote system prompt me for both a user AND pass?

Yeah, I try to refrain from telling that one to UNIX newbies, though. I find it harder to remember. The one I posted resembles FTP, which many more people are familiar with.

There is also man ssh. In the very very first lines reads:
Code:
SYNOPSIS ssh [-l login_name] hostname | user@hostname [command]
The question is if it is more efficient to read first or to go and find people to ask.
