Is anyone aware of a way to use a Mac OS X program to view single-file web page archive files (.mht) created by Win IE 6.0?

If not, is there any good program (preferably cross-platform and standards-based with respect to file format) for creating single-file web page/site archives?

tx,
ox

I had the same problem some months ago. Let's see if I remember what I did...

Definitely not ideal, but here's what I recall. I can access our Win2K server at work through Remote Desktop Connection and terminal services. I opened the .mht files in this way with IE and saved them as pdf files.

Tedious, time-consuming, and not exactly what you were hoping for, I know. But this was the only way (at the time) I could get it to work. I never looked on VersionTracker or asked a question here, so hopefully there's a more elegant solution.

I downloaded a .mht file from the web, and dragging it onto Stuffit Expander resulted in a folder with the html source and a couple of images, all having .attachmentXX (where XX where numbers) extensions. I figured out which were images by dragging them onto TextEdit and seeing which files said "JFIF" near the beginning of the file.

Using the shareware application Decoder I got all files out with correct extensions, with the html loading in a web browser.
