I'm running Panther with Apple's X11 and just installed the latest version of Fink. All I want to do is install pan, but I keep getting this error:

You have an existing X11 installation in /usr/X11R6/lib.
This package refuses to overwrite these. Remove them, then tell Fink to
install xfree86-shlibs again. (The package won't be recompiled.) If you want
to keep your X11 installation, install system-xfree86 resp. system-xtools
instead to make this known to Fink's package system.

If I do 'fink list system-xfree86' I get this:

This leads me to believe that system-xfree86 is installed correctly. Can anyone offer suggestions?

If you don't find an answer there, write an email to the fink user mailing list linked from the Fink webpage.

Do you use Fink Commander? I am downloading pan right now using FC.

everything seems to be going fine.
