Hi,

I recenty upgrade my PB HD to panther, but do not install in my HD FW 120GB Lacie D2

I wanna know, for periodic maintenance, if I can use a new disk utility in a older mac os version (jag) or vice versa...

I think it's ok to use the 10.3.2 version in Jag, but I'm not so sure...

anyone can help??

best regards and happy new year

I don't have access to my 10.2 computer right now to check, but I strongly doubt Panther's Disk Utility would work with Jaguar. I think it relies on frameworks that weren't there before.

At any rate, you don't need to install it on a FireWire drive in order to do maintenance on your main drive -- just boot from the install CD and use it from there.

You probably could if you booted from the other device. Since that is the boot drive it will treat all the other drives like it is under that version of the Mac OS.
